Mini-Meteorologists

In research we have been learning about weather and the tools that meteorologists use to measure it.  So far we have made two tools: an anemometer (a tool used to measure wind speed) and a wind vane (a tool used to measure wind direction).

The kids have been working together as teams to make their instruments, trying them out and recording their data.

We hope to get in supplies (glass jars, 2-liter bottles, Styrofoam plates, and balloons) to make another anemometer, a hygrometer, a barometer and a rain gauge. Please help us out if you can!

Pajama Day!

We reached our first goal of 100 points earned with Manatee Tickets last week. So this week we were able to celebrate by having our first class reward: Pajama Day! On Wednesday, we were all comfy in our PJ's while we learned. Now we have to decide on a new goal and reward to strive towards!
